How it began..

In 1974, Greg cut his first 1,000 keys while working in a hardware store in the Los Angeles area. Shortly thereafter, he began his career in security sales, serving much of the Indian Wells Valley and the Los Angeles basin. He continued in sales until 1985, when he met John, then owner of Security Engineering. John offered Greg a job and the opportunity to learn true locksmithing and safe opening. Greg embraced the chance and quickly excelled, eventually surpassing even his own expectations. He continued his education through ALOA and SAVTA classes, which he now teaches himself. More on that later.

In 2008, Greg accepted a civilian position in building security at China Lake Naval Base. He served there for 18 years as a locksmith and security expert. In 2025, Greg chose to retire and fully launch his own locksmith business — a business that had operated as a side endeavor for nearly 20 years and was finally ready to reach its full potential.

Where we are today:

As Greg got older and began thinking about the future of the business, he wanted to ensure his legacy would continue. He decided it was time to teach the next generation. In January 2024, Greg hired Dakota, his now son-in-law. Dakota brought with him a strong background in electronics and computer repair, making him an ideal fit for the company’s automotive specialist role as vehicles became increasingly computer-driven. His arrival also gave Greg more time to return to what he loved most: teaching the classes that first helped shape his career in the trade.

Greg remains active in the field, still working and teaching whenever needed. When he is not at home, he is often traveling across the country, sharing his knowledge and helping train other locksmiths in the skills of the profession.
